Consistently Successful Domestic Violence Defense
We are dedicated to the passionate, tenacious, and compassionate representation of those charged with domestic violence. We know that the consequences to clients and their families due to domestic violence allegations (even false allegations) can be life-changing in a tragic way.
How False Allegations Occur
Domestic violence most often takes place without witnesses. It is a charge that people often abuse by making false or exaggerated allegations. False reporting of domestic abuse regularly occurs during a contentious divorce or child custody dispute.
How We Get Charges Dismissed
Our top priority is getting domestic violence charges dismissed when possible. We thoroughly investigate the case and all exculpatory evidence while closely examining the prosecution's evidence for weaknesses. If the police or prosecutor violated our client's rights, we will file a Motion to Suppress.
Domestic Violence Convictions and Firearms
Under Michigan law, a person convicted of a misdemeanor involving domestic violence may not possess, use, transport, sell, purchase, carry, ship, receive, or distribute a firearm or ammunition until at least eight years after they have paid all fines, served all terms of imprisonment, and successfully completed all conditions of probation.
